Friday with Means - January 21st, 2011: Panic Meter Overload
In the last Friday with Means from Oslo, Norway, our fearless game director chats about the trials and tribulations of moving an entire team across the seas, and still finds time to share an early first-draft run of the new Trader rebalancing nano document!
This week has unsurprisingly been filled with OMG WE'RE MOVING tasks for the team as everyone realizes they actually have to pack and leave this coming Tuesday. I had a combined 4 hours of sleep between Sunday night and Thursday afternoon when our shipped goods were collected from the office...only one hallucination which was harmless enough. That being said the office has been somewhat empty as everyone prepares for our departure.
The Professionals have had a chance to go over the Trader nano document and a first round of changes/adjustments have been made so we can share the "high level" direction we want the profession to take. The exact numbers (and in some cases names) of future nanos are not set in stone at the moment so we expect there will be many adjustments still to come to the Trader document in the coming weeks. We feel there is still some work left to do with the Professionals on Traders....but the document so far I think gives a good flavour of the direction we want the profession to take if not the exact details. Traders are very important with respect to game balance so we will definitely be very careful in this area and will be looking forward to the feedback concerning the document at this stage.
Have a great weekend everyone! I need to PACK!
