Community Update 24th August 2007

News today of repeat showings of the All American Rejects concerts and the upcoming events at DragonCon

Concert Rebroadcast this weekend!

Take two of the concert by All American Rejects is set to happen this weekend. Those in North America can stop by the new concert hall in ICC and catch the group’s performance.  If all goes well, it is our sincerest desire to be able to bring citizens more events on a more global scale. If  this is something you’d like to see in the future please drop by and support the initiative  between Friday evening EST and Sunday night EST. Those not in North America are welcome to attend, but unfortunatly will not be able to view the concert itself due to exclusivity restrictions in place at this time that are beyond our control. Based on feedback from the prior run, time issues have been fixed and it will play throughout the weekend versus one set time.

This concert showing will require an additional update to the video file so there will be an 17.5.3 version deployed to the live dimensions today. This update will not require downtime and will simply upload the first time you log into the gameworld after the patch is released. We are working on ways to be able to provide content like this without the need to update clients with it through the patching system, but for now we have to rely on this method. We do understand that it involves an additional download and that some people might prefer not to have to download a file when they dont intend to (or can't) attend the concerts but these kind of events are what allows us to drive Anarchy Online forward, and keep offering new and different social events as well as game content, something that has always been important to Rubi-Ka.

Thanks again to all those who have enjoyed and supported these events (even those who can't see the concerts!) your loyalty and support of the community is truly appreciated. We are working with all the partners involved in bringing events like this to Rubi-Ka to ensure that we improve on how they work so that more players can enjoy these unique experiences.

Dragoncon is coming!

It's less then a week until the annual Dragoncon convention kicks off in Atlanta and we will be there meeting with fans, having some presentations of both Anarchy Online and Age of Conan and generally showing people a good time. You can find the details here for how to find out more if you are planning on attending this event!
