15.8 - Alien Playfields - Sector 13/28/35
The Unicorn Company has requested the help of all seasoned alien hunters to assist them with the situation in the Outzone! It has been discovered that large amounts of alien forces are forming in the non terraformed areas of Rubi-Ka and the Unicorns have established a base of operations in one of the old abandoned Omni-Tek mining bases in the outzone.

The Unicorn base
A shuttle will leave from Andromeda every ten minutes to take recruits to the Unicorn base, players should wait at the landing zone which can be found north of the ICC headquarters for the shuttle to arrive and enter through the rear of the vehicle.
NOTE: You must have the alien invasion expansion to access the shuttle and Unicorn base
The entrance area of the base is open to all players if they want to go and take a look around. Players intending to take part in the raids should consult with the Unicorn security administrator for their missions.
The lift down to the staging area is restricted to players of 180 and above.
The staging area contains the three laser gates into the raid playfields themselves. Coming into contact with a laser gate before they are opened will result in instant death. The Unicorn gatekeeper in the staging area can be consulted to find out when the gates are next going to be open.
The laser gates will open every seven hours for ten minutes. Raid forces can use the staging area to prepare so that they can enter safely when the gates open. All three laser gates open at the same time so raid forces will have to choose which of the three encounters they wish to attempt each time the gates open.
NOTE: The laser gates first open seven hours after the servers come up, so you will have time to prepare your raid force without having to rush into the area!
Mission Raid Gameplay
There will be three missions available for raid forces to engage in:
Sector 28
Protect the Rookie Alien Hunter! A mercenary alien hunter has gotten himself trapped behind alien lines with some valuable information and the unicorn company need you to escort him back safely to the Unicorn base.
Sector 13
Prevent the aliens establishing a base! The Unicorns need your assistance in preventing an alien general from progressing with their plan to build a base in the Outzone. Fight through the alien defenders and special sentries to take this general down!
Sector 35
Help the downed transport escape! A Unicorn transport vessel has been shot down behind the alien lines. You are needed to go in and hold of the attacking alien forces until the unicorn engineers can repair the vessel. Find the ship then protect it whilst the repairs are carried out!
These raids are designed for multiple groups to attempt. Whilst single or two team raids may be able to get a certain way through each mission, the special events in these encounters means that in order to complete these successfully you will probably need at least four or five teams.
Players should take special care around activated security gates, as trying to just walk through one will result in instant death, so you will have to find a way to get yourself some protection or a means of switching them off!
Note that if you die in these playfields you cannot return to the raid, part of the challenge will be keeping as many of your raid force breathing as possible throughout the encounters.
Keys and Future Content
The alien bosses will drop special items that are wanted by the Unicorns
These items allow you to complete the various missions and each boss should drop ten of the items required. This means that ten members of each raid will be able to complete the mission and get their reward from the Unicorns.
This reward is a security pass that we recommend you keep a hold of, as the Unicorns will be opening up other sectors of the Outzone in the future and will only be letting in those that have helped them in the past.
Design Notes
These encounters have been designed to try and provide some very different gameplay challenges from what you have seen before in Anarchy Online. We don’t want to give away too many of the tricks before you get a chance to experience them for yourselves, but we can safely say that keeping a single tank alive will be the least of your problems!
We have tried to ensure that the abilities of as many professions as possible will help you in these encounters; versatility and tactics are going to be the order of the day!
The encounters are not designed as pure ‘content on demand’ so as not to detract from the Alien attacks on your cities, but as raid gameplay for organised groups of players. As there are great rewards to be had on these raids, in terms of both items and axp we have decided upon the seven hour timers and three areas to make them much more available then existing high level content without lessening the worth of the rewards.
